TV Tokyo just released recently a new trailer for the first film of this anime, adapted from an RPG and sports videogame developed for Nintendo DS, which was launched on 2008.
Its success led to a manga adaptation in Coro Coro Comic magazine and an anime by Oriental Light and Magic transmitted by Tv Tokyo. Now the first movie will hit Japanese theaters in December 23rd.
It is the story of a boy named Mamoru/Satoru Endo/Mark Evans (depends on the version of the game), who is the captain and the goalkeeper of Raimon Institute Soccer club, and the grandson of one of the legendary goalkeepers in the history of Japanese soccer.
Despite his talent, his team is less than mediocre when it comes to forming an authentic team. But then he meets a misterious striker called Shuya Goenji/Axel Blaze who joins the team and stirs things up.
It has had special success in Latin American countries. Indeed this is the successor of Captain Tsubasa XD.
