New OVAS for Beelzebub and Toriko this year!

Shonen Jump magazine will announce next week the release dates and production details of the new OVAs of Beelzebub and Toriko.
Beelzebub is an action and comedy story in which by a twist of fate, a rebellious high school student becomes the surrogate father of the son of the devil, while Toriko is the story of a hunter looking for rare and exotic animals to convert into exquisite meals, in a world where taste and texture of foods is the only thing that matter (???).
Both mangas, published since 2009, have never had an anime adaptation before, so that's why they'll be part of the Jump Super Anime Tour this year.

The Foot Tattoo and Its Popularity

There are great differences among tattoos in today's world, which is why they represent a great way by which to express your individuality. You are in control of deciding what kind of tattoo you want and where on your body you want to display it. This means that what may be the best one for you, may not suit other people at all. But don't despair if you are still not entirely certain just what part of your body you want to have a tattoo on. You may consider a foot tattoo. These kinds of tattoos are very popular these days.

Here are some things to consider:

Tattoo sessions on the foot tend to be more painful, as a rule. The reason is due to the fact that the skin is close to the bone. And the closer the bone is to the skin, the more painful a tattoo will be. Tattoos on the foot, though, will be smaller, so you won't have to put up with the pain for long.

Foot tattoos are also more easily concealed than any other kinds. If you hope to have a professional job some day, concealment might come in handy, since in professional jobs tattoos are usually not in. So your ability to conceal a foot tattoo is a good thing.

But you should be aware of the fact that during the healing process you can't enclose your tattooed foot in a shoe, so open shoes are in order. The healing time for a tattoo is usually 2 to 3 weeks. If you can't avoid wearing shoes, then keep in mind that you must have 2 pairs of light socks on.

Did you know that a foot tattoo is considered sexy? There are many opinions about the types of tattoos that look good on people. The thing about foot tattoos is that even people who don't as a rule like tattoos, seem to like them on the foot.

Foot tattoos are likely to need touching up from time to time. The reason for this is due to extra exposure to conditions less favorable than on other parts of your body. A foot tattoo may also spread and end up looking blurry.

Star designs or words or even flowers are popular foot tattoos. But there is no reason why you can't engage your tattoo artist to help you create something really different. If you do want a larger and more complex tattoo than those in the ordinary runs of the mill, keep in mind that these will be more painful and more expensive, too.

Tribal Tattoo Designs For The Foot, Shoulder And Back

There seems to be an explosion in the popularity of tribal tattoos. Specifically, shoulder and back tribal pieces. Everywhere you look, from celebrity to Average Joe, someone has got a beautiful, striking tribal tattoo on their shoulder. Or they have the the tribal tattoo that goes from one shoulder, across the back, and down the other shoulder. Why are they fast becoming the most popular tattoo? How do you choose the best tribal tattoo design for you? Do a little research. Check out tribal tattoo designs in your culture or heritage. You are sure to get tons of ideas. I did a little research on tribal tattoos, and I now have a few theories as to the popularity surge. Probably the most important of all of these theories is that tribal shoulder tattoos look so cool!

Tribal tattoos were used in different cultures to delineate between the tribes. They were also used to distinguish between classes or rank within the tribe. Everyone in the tribe had some form of the tattoo. In most cultures, the tattoos were given in a ceremonial way, to celebrate the passage from childhood to adulthood.

It is widely believed that the Polynesian culture brought us our most popular tribal tattoos. The Samoans, the Maori, the Hawaiians. The most detailed of these are the Maori. These tattoos are intricate and curvilinear in nature. They are based on the spiral which give them such powerful movement within the design. The design begins in the center and radiates out, forming beautiful curves that are filled with pattern. The tribal tattoos were carved into the skin and rubbed with ash. Maori tattoos were placed on the face, back, chest, and arms. The more important you were, the more tattooing you had.

The traditional Samoan tattoo consists of very detailed geometric patterns. Traditionally, they cover a man from his waist to his knees. Woman have the same tattooing, but it is not as detailed or dense. A more modern Hawaiian Tattoo is the shoulder tattoo. Images are rich with geometric design.

The Celts and Danes tattooed their family crest on themselves. The ancient Egyptians tattooed themselves as a form of adornment.

In Japan, woman that were of age and getting married were tattooed. If a woman was not properly tattooed, she was thought to have committed a sin and was sentenced to death. (Yikes!)

The Christians tattooed Jesus Fish on themselves. The Native American Indians tattooed animals and images that linked them to a tribe. The ancient Mexico, the Aztecs tattooed images of their slain enemies.

So, each culture seems to have some form of tattooing in their ancient history. Does our love affair with tribal tattoos have roots in our wanting to belong? Is it pride in our heritage? Is it our personal passage into adulthood? I think it is all of the above. A little bit of heritage, a little culture, a feeling of inclusion. There is nothing like a powerful, beautiful shoulder tattoo that is meaningful to you.

Whatever your reason, tribal tattoos are really intricate in nature, and powerful in design. Find the right one and you will be happy with it forever. Don't spend enough time looking and tweaking the design, and you will be very unhappy. Tribal tattoos are generally large and most have a lot of black. Difficult to cover over, and difficult to remove. Think hard, do your research, find an excellent tattoo artist, and you will be all set. Peace always.

Sarah Channels Emma Goldman

I recently had the intense displeasure of discovering that my camera had broken. For someone whose spare time is spent taking pictures of other people's tattoos, this was a harrowing experience, especially since my BlackBerry's camera is flash-less and takes good pictures under only specific lighting conditions.

So what's a poor inkspotter to do? Pass out his card and hope for the best.

And despite dozens of cards distributed to many people with cool tattoos, the only one who has really come through for me is Sarah, who I met last Friday on the subway platform at West Fourth Street, as I waited for the D train to Brooklyn.

Possessor of several tattoos, the one of Sarah's I spotted was on her inner left forearm. My photo was blurry and, as the D pulled into West Fourth, she handed me her card so I could follow-up with her. Thankfully, she is a woman of her word, and sent me this photo yesterday:

Since Sarah is a writer and journalist, I'll let her do the talking. You can check out her work at  her website ohyouprettythings.net and/or read her blog at champagnecandy.tumblr.com. Sarah explains:

It says "It's not my revolution if I can't dance to it"

The tattoo is my most recent, and it's a paraphrase of a possibly-apocryphal Emma Goldman quotation. It's a line that spoke to me the first time I heard it. I'm a political journalist and a feminist activist, and Goldman's always been someone I looked up to. Also, I became a political person through music, and dancing and music have a particular significance for me.

It was done by Ryoko at Brooklyn Tattoo [who we most recently saw inked Julie Powell's tattoo here] and she's super-awesome...
As a lover of type tattoos, I had inquired about the font used and Sarah did not disappoint: "the font is Garton and the words revolution and dance are in Miama".

Thanks to Sarah for sharing her tattoo with us here on Tattoosday!

Ao no Exorxist: the next Bleach?

This is an interesting but little known manga that I'm sure it won't take long to eventually take the big step into anime.

Also known as Blue Exorcist, its author is Kazue Kato and it began to be published by Shueisha in April 2009.

With the visual style of D-Grayman, its premise is simple but it hits you on the face on the first pages: Rin is the typical boy who lives fighting in the streets, is an orphan and lives in a monastery.

His protector, father Fujimoto, constantly fights with him so he can finally get a job, because when he reaches 16, he can't stay at the shelter anymore.
His twin brother, Yukio, is more reserved, shy and a pacifist. Yukio is accepted into the True Cross Academy for his medicine studies.

In a fight with an enemy of his neighborhood, Rin discovers he can see demons and also has supernatural powers to combat them.

When father Fujimoto comes to exorcise the demon that was hounding Rin, he reveals the thing he least imagined in his short and difficult life: he is the son of Satan with a human woman.

This manga definitely has the potential to be the next Bleach in terms of a supernatural theme. The Saint Seiya style fights are there, the drama of being half-human half-demon is there, too. The tone is also very similar to Death Note, in the Gothic look of the panels and the characters.

You can get this manga on scanlation sites, it's currently 15 chapters and 3 volumes long but well worth it!

Here's a preview:

Bleach will be back with new episodes on Cartoon Network on August!!

Bleach is scheduled to come back with new episodes in August the special airing of the first two movies; Bleach: Memories of Nobody and Bleach 2: the Diamond Dust Rebellion, starting on August 14, and following on August 21 with episodes 166 and 167.

It's great news since that means that the recent strategy adopted by Viz Media, in which the episodes are simulcasted on Crunchyroll, makes it more likely to be seen worldwide and also to be translated in various languages, including Spanish, which makes for a better distribution. Long gone are the days in which you had to expect months to see your favorite anime episodes!

Ganesh Waits for the A Train

Actually, Kerry was waiting on the platform for the uptown A Train when I walked by at 34th Street.

How could I not stop and ask her about this tattoo:

This absolutely stunning depiction of the Hindu deity Ganesh took between eight and nine hours to complete.

Guy Ursitti at Thicker Than Water is the tattooist responsible for this work of art, the newest (at the time I met her) of Kerry's approximately fifty tattoos.

The detail in the tattoo is absolutely incredible.

Sexy Tattoo Designs For Girls - The Best Foot and Sleeve Tattoos

There are so many great tattoo designs for girls these days it is really amazing. In fact there are so many great looking tattoo designs for girls these days that it can be hard to narrow down the choices and find something that works for you. Two of the most currently popular trends for tattoo designs for women are tattoos for foot and sleeve tattoo designs. If you are looking for a tattoo design for either of these super sexy locations here are some great ideas.

Tattoos For Foot

Of course the foot is a small area or canvas to work from so if you are truly considering getting a foot tattoo you should try and find a design that can be small and not too intricate. If the design is too intricate it will late fade and blur.

Star Foot Tattoo - One of the most popular options these days are the star foot tattoo. The stars have always fascinated people and human throughout our short time here on earth. There are so many mysteries behind stars that they can make a great and highly symbolic tattoo.

Flower Foot Tattoo - Anther great option is to get a flower foot tattoo design hat you like. There are so many different possibilities with a flower tattoo design. One should start by deciding what is important in their life that holds meaning and significance for them. Then they can locate a great looking flower that symbolizes those things.

Sleeve Tattoo Designs

Sleeve tattoo designs can be done as a full sleeve going from wrist to shoulder. A half sleeve ranging from elbow to should and a quarter sleeve tattoo which is typically just done around the shoulder and upper part of the arm. More and more women are choosing to get sleeve tattoos or what is called getting sleeved. Here are some of the more popular ideas and tattoo design styles for feminine sleeve tattoo design.

Koi Fish Sleeve Design - The koi fish is obviously a very traditional and Japanese tattoo design that used to be done very large in full body tattoo suits worn by the Yakuza. However, today many women are getting this traditional tattoo with the beautiful new colored inks available these days.

Floral Sleeve Designs - Another popular option for women is a floral tattoo. This could be anything from a gothic looking vampire flower or a lotus flower symbolizing a journey and transformation typically religious but these days just a great classic tattoo design.

Sexy Tattoo Ideas

When a female has decided to get a tattoo coping with the pain is the easy part, picking a design that will speak to her soul but also make her feel sexy is the real trick. Many woman have no idea what to get a tattoo of much less how getting the right tattoo design will positively effect there self esteem.

A classic tattoo idea is to tattoo tribal or flower designs along the lower back. Always a feminine spot to get a tattoo the lower back is probably the sexiest place a woman can get work done. Unlike other parts of the body where the subject matter must be considered, most tattoo designs no matter what the subject matter will look cute and girlish on the lower back.

A small symbol looks quite sexy peeking from the nape of a female's neck. A big part of the draw of female tattoos is only seeing part of the tattoo adding to the mystery of the design. This is exactly the case with neck tattoos. Chinese symbols often work well on the neck as do small religious symbols or a loved one's initials.

A more recent trend with female tattooing that proves to be quit sexy is tattooing the rib cage. Often you will find a small framed large breasted young lady with a large tattoo peeking from behind her bra strap under her arm. The mystery of the tattoo is truly the sexiest part and the allure of the design under the bra is intoxicating.

Andromeda Shun (part 1)

Being a controversial and an ambiguous character at the same time, Andromeda Shun has his fans as well as his detractors (the infamous scene in the house of Libra with Hyoga comes to mind!).

Somewhat effeminate in appearance, Shun has always been underestimated, but it is no wonder since it's what you would normally expect of a bishounen or bishie character (Japanese for 'beautiful boy').

Shun, unlike his brother Ikki, is calm, sweet and does not like fighting. However, he is one of the few Saints that has a physical weapon as a primary mean of attack.

But while the story of Saint Seiya progressed, Shun was showing his tough side and he was determined to protect Saori (Athena) no matter what, mastering his maximum technique 'Nebular Storm' (Storm Nebular).

The Nebular Storm is one of the most impressive techniques seen in the series, and consists of a cosmic wind that paralizes the enemy, that in a matter of just seconds can become a brutal storm that destroys everything in its path.

That's how Shun was able to finish Aphrodite of Pisces, using this technique as a last resort before he was struck with the White Rose (White Rose Dead).

Like his peers, Shun is an orphan and was selected to train as a Saint. He was initially meant to train at the Fire Island, most known as the Death Island, but Ikki took his place so that his brother had better luck on the Island of Andromeda.

Basic Facts

Height: 1.65 meters.
Weight: 51 Kg
Date of Birth: 9 September (Virgo), the same date that Hades was born, making him the perfect candidate to be his host, as well as being the human with the purest soul.
Blood Type: A
Source: Japanese
Teachers: Daidalos in the manga, and Albiore of Cepheus in the anime, given that the creators thought that it was more accurate, because in Greek mythology, Cepheus was the father of Andromeda, whom he gave in sacrifice to Poseidon.

Grupo Sanguíneo: A

Sean Shares a Host of Traditional Tattoos

I ran into Sean at the Foodtown in my neighborhood and when I stopped to talk to him about his tattoos (he has nine), I ended up with photos of several pieces, all of which reside on his left arm.

Most of the designs are traditional tattoo subjects, all of which were inked by Eli Quinters at Smith Street Tattoo Parlour in  Brooklyn. Work from Smith Street Tattoo has appeared previously on Tattoosday here.

First up is this amazing lighthouse:

Sean explained that this tattoo is for his mother, as this tattoo is based on her "favorite lighthouse," the Fastnet Lighthouse on the most southerly point on the coast of Ireland.

Then there is this owl tattoo:

This was done for no other reason that Sean has always liked owls. If you love owl tattoos, be sure to head over to this site.

Then there is the elephant tattoo:

He has this piece because "elephants never forget".

I know we posted a sugar skull yesterday, but here's another one:

This was all Eli's design. Sean gave him free reign and likes the fact that it is unusual in that there are not a lot of colors in it, like one sees in most sugar skull tattoos. For all that have appeared on Tattoosday previously, check this link.

There is also the traditional female figure, not modeled after anyone in particular, just done in a traditional style:

And Sean's last tattoo is this bat:

He told Eli that he "wanted something spooky" that included the moon. Quinters free-handed this piece, starting with a white Sharpie and then finished with a darker Sharpie before finishing the tattoo.

What's neat about all of Sean's tattoos is that they flow nicely together, as readers can see elements of many of the tattoos on the borders of the photos of specific designs.

Thanks to Sean for sharing these amazing tattoos by Eli Quinters with us here on Tattoosday!

Cool Tattoo Design - What You Need to Know Before Getting One

Having chosen a cool tattoo design, you are now, I'm willing to bet, very much excited and thrilled to just rush out and got to a tattoo artist's studio and finally do it: get a tattoo. While I understand the excitement of getting a tattoo, I seriously think it would be wise if you read this article until the last line. Who knows? It may get you thinking about some things.

I am not against people getting tattoos. Being born in a family who are very artistically inclined, I understand and I am in fact, all for self expression and I look at tattoos as works of art. However, I see a lot of people who are so hyped about getting tattoos only to realize later on that they do not want to have the tattoos in the end and would then spend thousands of dollars to undergo painful procedures of getting the tattoo removed. It is a waste of time, money and an artist's hard work.

Getting a cool tattoo design permanently inked on any part of your body is ONE. BIG. DECISION. This is something that would stay with you for the rest of your life - unless, of course you decide you do not want the tattoo after all. And mind you, there are actual studies that show that around forty percent of the people who get tattoos later on regret having it done in the first place. What a bummer!

Since I am pretty sure that you do not want to see yourself included in that forty percent statistic, here are some of the things that you need to know and understand before you go out and get one cool tattoo design a permanent part of your body:

* Decide (and stick to the decision you make) on the type of tattoo design you would like. Are you interested in Celtic designs? Tribal? Something girly? Or aggressive? A tiger or a dragon tattoo perhaps? Check out websites that offer free tattoo designs or you can visit your local tattoo artist for flash designs. For custom designs, the process may take several hours stretched over a period of days. If you want a portrait done, do take note and understand that there are some designs or photos that may not look as good when recreated as a tattoo.

* Where particularly in your body would you like to have it done? Keep in mind that there how big or small the tattoo is dependent on the particular body part you would like to have it done on.

* Would you go for a big design or a discreet dainty tattoo instead? If a tattoo is very small, some colors may come out blurry.

* Is there a particular color that you would like to have done on your tattoo?

It is normal that you would have to look at literally, thousands and thousands of tattoo designs before you could come across the design that will suit you the best. If you are undecided on whether a design would really work for you, try printing a design and stencil it and then try to see if it will look good on you.

Sugar Skull Sunday - One From Ryan

Since I seem to capture more sugar skulls than any other design, why not reserve a day just for these decorative symbols which, at their roots, have deep religious significance?

Two weeks ago, I met Ryan, who has ten tattoos.

Of that lot, he offered up this design on his left bicep, which Charlie Foos created for him at FlyRite Studios in Brooklyn.

Charlie Foos is now at Read Street Tattoo Parlour in Baltimore.

Aside from the traditional nature of the sugar skull tattoo, Ryan also loves Mexico and this design recalls that beautiful and diverse culture south of the border.

Thanks to Ryan for sharing this decorative tattoo with us on Tattoosday!

Sexy Tattoos - Tattoos For Women is a Growing Trend

Sexy tattoos for women have become quite popular in the past few years. Beautiful tattoos have been around since men and women first began walking on the earth. Tattoos were a symbol of bravery, or a sign of the god that they believed in. Some feminine tattoo designs may even tell a short story, or could be a bloodline. There are many things tattoos could represent in today's society. They are still used in many tribal activities today.

Many women think that they are very sexy. A women is never too old to get small cute tattoos; one woman was 62 years old when she got her very first one. Most women choose to have their feminine tattoo designs printed on one of their breast, or around the ankles, however, other women like for it to go on their lower back or the stomach area just above their bikini line.

Beautiful Tattoos

Many women like beautiful tattoos so much that they have tattoos all over their bodies; but take it from a guy, too many tattoos on a woman takes away from their natural beauty, however, a few small feminine tattoos do look very good, especially if they say something that lets a man know what she wants. Such as, a tattoo on the abdomen that says, "The fun starts here", and has an arrow that points down.

Sexy tattoos for women are much better to have if they are colored in, more than a tattoo that has no color at all. There are thousands of sexy tattoos for women not only at the tattoo studio, but you can find many beautiful ones online. Once you find the one that you feel is perfect for you, you can save the picture in your documents, print it out on your printer, and take it to the studio. The artist should not have any trouble transferring the print to you.

Small Cute Tattoos

Small cute tattoos can be pictures of a girl's favorite animal, or even something mystical; it could even be of something that has a particular meaning to them. There are many mystical creatures that supposedly have mystical properties by wearing one. Such feminine tattoo designs, as a gold fish, or an ankh, even fairies and wizards. Symbols are also a very popular item for small feminine tattoos.

After your new beautiful tattoos has been imprinted on your arm, of course, the artist will tell you to keep it clean, and this is very important. If proper care is not taken, the tattoo could become infected. If you feel abnormal pain, or more pain than you think you should, or if there is an increase in swelling, more than likely it has become infected. This is not due to the artist using a bad needle or anything like that, it just happens. Just like getting a piercing sometimes it becomes infected. You can use a good antibiotic cream to help keep your tattoos clean, this should be applied as soon as you get home. A little preventive medicine will help keep the tattoo from becoming infected.

Hot Designs And Styles For Girls

Floral - Of course these are pretty self explanatory but flower tattoos are the perfect match to fit beautifully with the female body. The curves of the vines and the color of the flower blossom works perfectly together to create beautiful feminine design. Keep in mind the symbolism behind different flowers can play an important role in the design of these tattoos.

Japanese Koi - Japanese koi fish tattoos are quickly becoming a very hot item for women to get. They represent power and strength. The beauty of the color with the blue water and the gold and yellow scales on the fish make for a very brilliant colorful tattoo design that works great on the female body be it a side tattoo or a half sleeve design.

Cherry Blossom - Also a traditional Japanese tattoo design these are quickly becoming very popular. The cherry blossom is delicate, beautiful and lives a short brilliant and bright life and then fall tragically on the snow to die. The symbolism here is to live life to the fullest to be bold and beautiful and live each day to it's fullest. This is a great reminder for all of us and how everyone should live their lives.

Angels - Angels and fairies have always been popular with women as well as butterflies. There is just something magical and special about wings and the colors and meaning behind such designs work well for women. Have you been wondering what is going to be hot in the world of tattoo designs this year? Every year it seems like the trends and what is popular in the world of tattoos changes. This year it is no different and the sexiest and best tattoos for girls are quickly becoming clear. Yes even though it is early in 2010 you can already see the major trends of what is going to be hot this year and even into next year. This article will look at the top locations and the hottest tattoo design trends.

Locations For Hot Female Tattoo Designs

Of course you can always get a tattoo on any part of the body you want. The list below just gives some of the most popular places to get inked on the female body. If you already have somewhere in mind then great but if you are still trying to think of the location for your tattoo design then by all means read what is below and take the ideas into consideration and see what works best for you and the tattoo you want.

Hip Tattoos - This is one of the newest and most sexy areas for female tattoo designs. It used to be the lower back tattoo was the sexy location but this has changed and now one of the new even hotter places to get a design in on the hip. They are easy to hide when needed in a professional setting but a great pair of hip hugger jeans will also reveal at least the top if not all of these great tattoos.

Upper Back - The upper back tattoo is the new answer to the lower back tramp stamp. Yes the lower back has been overdone and over played at this point but have no fear the upper back tattoo is just as sexy if not more so and works well for larger designs. This gives you almost unlimited possibilities for hot tattoo designs.

Half Sleeve - Sleeve tattoos be them full sleeve, half sleeve or even quarter sleeves were once the domain of men's tattoos. However, no more women are going bolder with their tattoos and designs as well as the locations on their bodies. More and more women are getting sleeve tattoos these days and they are sexy.

Side Tattoos For Girls - Side tattoos are also another very hot trend in tattoo designs for women. These typically start down low around the waist area and then come up on the side. These can go up into the rib cage area. Just keep in mind the higher on the ribs you go the more painful the tattoo will be but often these are such great designs that it will be worth the pain.

More news on the upcoming Akira movie!

According to director Albert Hughes (The Book of Eli), Warner Brothers wants a movie that is at least PG-13, and the project will continue its development this year, with the script possibly ready in September.

"There's something about cinema — old cinema", the director says,"where I get excited about some subversive things you can do with being held down by something like that or being censored. That I kinda found to be a challenge, how can I make this feel like a rated-R movie. I look towards what [director Christopher] Nolan did with Batman. Tonally, those don't feel like PG-13 movies."

Hughes said that the trick to achieve this effect was to simplify everything for the audience, bearing in mind that certain elements of this manga are too complicated to translate them into film.

As for the possible cast, Hughes said it was too early to give names but he's looking for a young and talented unknown actor, as well as a Gary Oldman or Morgan Freeman type of actor.

It seems that they want to take this movie seriously, but at the same time it looks like it won't be very faithful to the manga because we know what happens when directors and producers speak of "content too complicated for the audience"

Katie's Tattoos: A Tribute and a Memorial

I met Katie on 34th Street one afternoon when I stopped to ask her about her foot tattoo:

This tribute piece on her left foot is for her cousin, whose initials are JMS. The letters sit astride the ribbon designating awareness for the disease Multiple Sclerosis (MS). The two feet represent the fact that she helps raise awareness in the fight against MS by participating in an MS Walk each year.

For more information on MS, visit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's website here.

Katie also shared with me these wings on the back of her neck:

The initials "MCF" refer to her brother Mark, who was killed with a friend a few years back when a train struck them. This memorial piece ensures that her brother is always with her.

Katie's tattoos were inked by Spencer at Fat Kat Tattoos in Keyport, New Jersey. Work from  Fat Kat has appeared previously on Tattoosday here.

Thanks to Katie for sharing two of her four tattoos with us here on Tattoosday!

Dragon Tattoo Designs - How to Choose the Perfect Tattoo

When it comes to getting a tattoo, one of the coolest ones for guys to get is dragon tattoo designs. The reason we recommend these kinds of tattoo's is because dragons are extremely manly and can protect anything. Women want a man that is strong and they feel safe with. The tattoo will make the girl think that you are that kind of guy. Another reason these tattoos are so great is because you can do so many different things with them!

1-Decide where it is going to be

When choosing your dragon tattoo design, the first thing you are going to need to do is decide where you are going to want to put it. For dragons, a great place is the back of the calf, the forearm, or the side of your stomach. Some guys like to put them across their upper back also.

2-The color

The color of the tattoo is actually really important, but the truth is black and white tattoo's are really cool if you do them correctly. We recommend you start off with getting your tattoo black and white then go back later and add color to it if you feel the need to do so.

3-The actual design

Getting a tattoo of a dragon alone will be cool, but if you add some stuff to it, then it will be even cooler. If you want your tattoo to look really manly then have the dragon blowing fire or breathing smoke. Another great thing to do is get a henna tattoo with a dragon in the middle.

Megan Fox Bashes Tattoo Haters

I know that I have already done a Megan Fox post on the Wednesday edition of Celebrity Tattoos. But none the less I had to write another post about her because she is bashing critics who claim that her tattoos are trashy. Megan has also stated that she will cover her whole body in tattoos just to spite these critics.

Megan said

"Everyone hates them because they're closed-minded about tattoos. People who don't like me, as far as fans go, always talk about how I'm trashy because I have tattoos. I find that insane! This is 2008, not 1950. Tattoos aren't limited to sailors. I find them beautiful, so I'm going to keep doing it."

I will admit that I do agree with Megan this isn't 1950 anymore and regular people including hot Hollywood actress have tattoos and most of the time have more than one. But I will say that her choices in some of her tattoos are a little interesting. That Marilyn Monroe tattoo she has on her arm sticks out like a sore thumb. But her other eight tattoos, in my opinion are not trashy at all. I really believe that it is okay to have a lot of tattoos on your body, as long as you carry yourself well and have confidence in yourself. I think that makes your tattoos become kind of sexy and not trashy at all. There are plenty other celebrities out there that have 5 or 6 tattoos and they are as pretty and sexy as they can be. And not to mention most people don't even know that they have that many tattoos.

Tattoo Shop

How to find a tattoo shop in the U.S.

Tattoos are becoming more and more popular. Every day, people who have never decided to get their tattoos in the first place. And they wonder where they should go to get them in the first place. Tattoo ShopThis is an important decision because you can have a tattoo on you for life. In addition, health issues come into play. So, you want a tattoo can be proud of and one that will not be positive.

How to find a shop or tattoo parlor:

1. It is best to ask your friends where they got them. They can not give you the address and name of the store, but can provide detailed information about the quality and professionalism of the art tattoo shop.

2. If you can not find a good place from your friends, you could go online and ask others. A place to consider, is Yahoo Answers. You can ask specific questions like "what a good tattoo shop in Las Vegas?" . You'll probably get a lot of answers for a few days.

Tattoo Shop3. Internet community, as tattoohood.com. He is free to join sites like MySpace, but only for fans of tattoos. Inside there is a forum area, gallery, where you can get ideas for tattoos, and you can also interact with other members. So if you find members of a city, you can only ask them where they get their tattoo.

4. Tattoo directory. There are several good online directories to find a tattoo shop and artist in the United States. One thing that I found the most complete JustTattoo.com. They have thousands of nursing, as well as evaluation system for each room.

So, just put in a little and make the right decisions. Find tattoo shop was not difficult, but finding the best takes a little more work.ByTim Phelan

Popular Tattoos For Women - Sexy, Not Shocking

Femininity of design is usually the norm of popular tattoos for women and such artful conceptions lean towards delicate charm and sophistication. In the infancy of tattooing as an art form, mainstream society revealed few women bearing tattoos and those who dared engrave their innocent bodies earned reputations as "undesired rebels" loitering out on the fringes of society. Alas, times have changed! Just over twenty years ago, tattooing hitched a ride in the fast lane to widespread social acceptance, in particular with the rise of celebrities exhibiting captivating body art. The difference was, not all these celebrities were men. Leading female celebrities broke the norm and the common woman soon followed.

Fast forward to modern society where cosmopolitan cultures reign and you will glimpse the raw power of attraction and playfulness wrapped up in the most popular tattoos for women. It is a rarity indeed, to find those who might find such artistic creations, offensive. While that is the consensus, there are still some things that just die-hard. More men still opt for a tattoo and social rebellion still favors the decision for some women to enlist the ravenous works of a tattoo artist. More often though, most women seek tattoo designs to compliment their femininity rather than make social statements. Nevertheless, in today's society, it is simply politically incorrect, to judge a woman's character based on her body art.

The physical make-up of women is inclined to represent delicate accents. From such perspectives, popular tattoos for women often are modestly dainty when compared with tattoos worn by men. It is rare indeed to see a woman with tattoos covering an entire limb; rather feminine tattoos tend toward isolation of specific body zones such as the lower back or the foot, ankles or wrists. They tend to function more as accessories. Women often prefer tattoos that are less boisterous and refraining from aggressiveness, where men's tattoos aim for the opposite effects. Women's tattoos are usually comprised of thinner lines, but it is worth noting there are always exceptions to such generalizations.

Accentuate Your Body With a Sexy Tattoo Design

Tattoos, which are largely popular today can be an accessory to spice up one's looks. Women, in particular, are often closely associated with sexy tattoo designs. These designs are tattooed in various parts of the body - some exposed to the public eye while other sexy tat designs are tattooed discreetly in parts that remain shielded from the prying eyes.

The options are aplenty where sexy tat designs are concerned. Still, the crop of women tend to largely associate tat designs that are colored with sexiness. For instance, a large rose tattoo with bright red colors on its petals, green for its leaves and brown/black for its stem/thorns is widely regarded as sexy. Having mentioned that, where sexy tattoo designs are concerned, many have the notion that apart from the designs in itself, the placement of these tattoos in itself are equally important.

As we mentioned earlier, sexy tattoos that are tattooed on different parts of the body will give out different messages or different levels of sexiness for that matter. As an example, women who choose to get tattoos on their breast and chest are are said to be romantic. On the other hand, tattoos that are done on the more intimate areas of the woman's body such as the inner thigh is said to ooze high in the level of sexiness. The reason for this is, as we mentioned early in the article, rarely seen by most people other than those that have c close, intimate and sexy relationship.

What this means is the issue of sexy tat designs is largely debatable and one that largely depends on the individual getting the tattoo. It comes down to the choice of whether the bearer intends the sexy tat design to be appreciated by the public or reserved for a special someone.

In addition, as sexy tat designs becomes increasingly popular and complement a host of different popular fashion, style and trends, more women are getting these tattoos to go with their hair, top, handbag and other fashionable accessories. With that in mind, an experience tattoo artist will be able to give suggestions and recommendations regarding the perfect sexy tattoo designs to obtain in order to complement a specific fashion, style or/and trend that is currently hot.

Leyna's Balloon Keeps Her Grounded

Leyna was leaving the Borders at 2 Penn Plaza when I spotted one of her tattoos and asked about it.

This was the tattoo in question:

It is located on the back of her left leg, on the calf.

The design was inspired by the cover art from the Modest Mouse record We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank.

Leyna thought the anchor was cool, and she feels it is a good representation of herself in her 20's.

The tattoo was inked by Derik Snell at Hand of Glory Tattoo in Brooklyn. He liked the design because he had never tattooed a hot air balloon before. Work from Hand of Glory has appeared previously on Tattoosday here.

Another one of Leyna's tattoos  caught my eyes, as well:

This two-word snippet, "ecstatic and insatiate" is an excerpt from Allen Ginsberg's Howl. I'd speak more about it, but it appeared first on the most awesome blog, Contrariwise. I'd direct you over here to read what Leyna had to say about this tattoo, and encourage you to linger about and check out the seemingly endless array of literary ink.

Thanks again to Leyna for sharing her tattoos with us here on Tattoosday!

Chris Returns with a New Tattoo Putting a Face on Addiction

Earlier this month, I posted about Chris's tattoos (here) and how they represented his battle with addiction.

This past weekend, Chris sent me a follow-up, showing me a new tattoo he had just had inked. It's certainly worth sharing here, as it is not only impressive work, but it continues addressing his struggle with addiction.

Check it out:

Chris explains:
"Just yesterday [June 18, 2010] Ii had an absolutely incredible piece done on my left shoulder. I work at The Painted Bird Tattoo and the newly-opened Boston Tattoo Company (same owners) ... To help celebrate the grand opening weekend of the Boston Tattoo Company, we were fortunate enough to bring in a very talented artist (not to mention one of the nicest most genuine people I've ever met), named Christian Perez. I was able to get an appointment with him and he channeled exactly what I wanted into my skin.

I talked to him prior to his visit and told him that it seemed like every tattoo I thought about getting lately was all dark imagery which I attribute to the disease of addiction which still lives inside me. I wanted to bring all the evil, sickness, and wickedness of my past life to the surface, give it form so I can "see" my demon, if you will. This was the result ... you should think about making trip to Boston sometime. Lots of great artists and great work around here. Also, as of July, Christian will be tattooing out of Hope Gallery in New Haven, CT."

Thanks to Chris for following up with us and sending in this photo of his new tattoo. Former contributors are always welcome to submit their new work for us all to see and enjoy here on Tattoosday.
